Spicy & Salty Potato Crackers

I made these crackers today for evening snack.  As usual got the recipe from Priya's blog. I almost followed the same recipe except included Ashirwadh atta along with APF.  Here goes my version of spicy crackers.

Ingredients:

  • All Purpose flour - 1 cup
  • Atta / wheat flour - 1 cup
  • white sesame seeds - 2 tbsp
  • unsalted butter - 1 tbsp
  • Baking soda - 1 tsp
  • Salt - To taste
  • Hing - few pinches
  • Red chilli powder - 1 1/2 tsp(acc to taste)
  • 1 Idaho potato - cooked and mashed
Cook the potato and mash it removing the peel.  Take the flour, baking soda, white sesame seeds, salt, hing and chilli powder in a bowl. Mix everything well. Add the butter and mix it along with the dry flour.  It will become like dry crumbs.  Add the mashed potato to it.  Mix everything well adding required amount of water and make it a nice dough.  Wrap it and keep it aside for half an hour.  When you are ready to make, flatten the dough to a huge circle and cut it into small pieces with cookie cutter.  Bake it in 325 degrees for 20 minutes or until it becomes crisp.  Mine took 25 minutes to get the required amount of crispiness.
