Methi Puri

This Methi Puri is basically a snack which will goes nicely with hot cup of tea.  I learned this from my colleague who is a Gujarati.
I have started learning some new Gujarati recipes from her. Here goes the recipe I followed to make this Methi Puri.

Ingredients:-
  • Maida/All Purpose Flour - 2 cups
  • Atta/Wheat Flour - 1 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Kasuri Methi - 1 tsp (nicely crushed)
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Chilli powder - 3/4 tsp (acc to taste)
  • Hing - few pinches
  • Unsalted Butter - 2 tbsp
  • Oil - to fry

Take all the dry ingredients in a wide bowl.  Add the butter to it and and mix everything well.  Keep mixing it for 3 to 5 minutes so that everything gets mixed nicely. Knead it into a thick dough adding required amount of water. Keep it aside for half an hour.  When you are ready to make lemon sized balls and spread it like a roti.  Cut it into required shaped and deep fry it in medium flame till it becomes golden brown and crispy.  Store it in a air tight container.
