Vaazhakkai curry 2

This is something I have tried when I was in college. One of my friend used to bring it as a side dish with sambar rice. I personally like this version of vaazhakkai curry. Here is the recipe.

Ingredients :-
  1. Plantain (vaazhakkai) - 2
  2. Salt to taste
  3. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  4. Curry powder - 1 tsp (acc to taste) **
  5. Asafoetida powder - a pinch

First cut both the edges of plantain and cut it into 1 " thick circles. Pressure cook or steam cook it adding required amount of salt. After cooking remove the skin from plantain. In the mean time mix both turmeric, asafoetida powder and curry powder in a bowl and dip these plantain pieces and keep it aside. Pre heat a dosa skillet, spray few drop of PAM cooking spray and put these pieces and cook it till it becomes crispier. This is a wonderful side dish for any rice. Consistnecy should be crispier outside and soft and moist inside.

** - My friend's mom usually use red chillies powder. I replaced it with curry powder.
